i wonder why Ford did this...

i noticed in the 2008 & 2009 models, alot of the 4x4s have the 15" chrome wheels w/ smaller tires like they use to back in the day....

i wonder y, it just takes away from the look of the 4x4....

just rambling on...

price for them...

bet they saved a fortune when you consider how much the price jumps for 15" tire to 16" tires

agree, I have never understood why they kept making the 2 door ext. cabs. My 01 had the ext cab doors and my 04 doesnt, at the time I didnt think it would be a big deal but now I hate not having the extra cab doors. Thats the major reason I'm looking for something else and selling the 04....eventhough I have only put it on craigslist...not in any real hurry.

I mean I bought mine used so I really didn't have a choice but I think everyone else now offers 4 doors standard on their extended cab model trucks. I have to do gymnastics with the seats to get anything remotely large in the back. My next camping trip I'm removing my passenger seat so stuff actually fits inside the cab.

the sizes of the 4x4 factory tires varies over years. some were 245's, some 235's some 255's. back in the early- mid 90's the 4x4 STX came factory with 265's while in the 80's the factory 4X4's came with 225's and even 215's!

My 98 has no rear doors, and I hate it every time I go in to get tools out, or to stuff people in.

Why Ford! Damn you!

with the 2 door.. the cab doesn't crumple as easy as the 4 door model.. so its better crash test rating

are they even making the rangers anymore? the Twin City plant is closing if i heard right.. unless they moved the ranger to the mazda new jersey plant..

but if they make it stonger means more money to build and higher price for the truck.. they are trying to be smart right now in the way of spending cause Ford doesn't wanna be like GM and Dodge who both have gone into chapter 11

and i love my 4 doors. and i came stock with 255's. nothing stellar, but at least they looked kinda beefy on a stock truck

They almost went the same route anyway. I'd pay the extra for a reinforced cab and 4 doors if I wanted another Ranger.
