Icon5 I'm having bad thoughts

So here's my problem. When the Life insurance money comes in I have a couple options.

1. Pay off the ranger long story short I owe around 8k on it still.

Or

2. Sell it and use that money to get a 4x4 sport trac, ranger or a older wrangler/CJ.

I'm torn I love my ranger and I have had lots of good memories with it, but I have the option to get something better. I have always wanted a wrangler/CJ. I also have wanted a sport trac for a long time, but I dont NEED a sport trac. I already have the f150 screw and my mazda3 for hauling/hauling people. Either way that money will be spent. So out of my options what are your thoughts?

Why do you need 2 trucks and a car? I would sell the ranger and pimp out your other rides...

Tough choice dude. I cant say. I would love to be driving my ranger around knowing that it was paid. An older jeep would be awesome, and being that ive never had one, it would be a whole new experience.

Pay off the ranger but heres the twist, instead of buying a 4x4 save yourself the hassle and despair of ifs, and Just make your 2wd ranger a sas'd Ranger! :P

Because I want too? lol all of these will be paid off. No payments. I also wont have a house payment. The f150 is a street queen. I need something to play with offroad.

No matter what vehicle I will have it'll be paid for. I'm just torn on what to get.

If I still have a ranger i'm not hassling with a sas. Dont have the know how or anyone that does here and I wont pay a shop to do it. If I keep my current ranger it'll get swapped to a 4x4. However I could save the time and just start fresh WITH a 4x4 and gain a larger more powerful motor.

pay off the ranger, see how that feels. If you find a sweet deal sell the ranger. If you want something to offroad in, then get a real weekend warrior, that you can sink and tug around without feeling bad about it.

I vote for the 4x4 ranger.
I have been driving wranglers at work for about 15 years and I can say they run good but they are useless except for a short wheelbase trail rig. People in the backseat would be uncomfortable, theres not enough room to haul anything more than groceries, and when you put the window down the wind beats you to death. Its probably not a problem in Alabama but both of our wranglers rusted out in the drivers floor board and the first one started rusting out on the outer body(tub).

Myself I would loose the Ranger and F150 and do the F250 mod....lol

Thought about that too, but then I would have too many vehicles. I also plan to pick up a mustang.

Wont get rid of the f150 it was my dad's truck. F250 is a bit much for what I need anyway. Wrangler/CJ would pretty much be a play toy as well as the ranger. I have two vehicles that can haul people around comfortably.

Wrangler. You already have the 150 for the truck and the mazda for the DD. Now you just need a trail rig

since you already have street vehicles I would find an older jeep and make it a play toy, or find a single cab 4x4 ranger and SAS that thing

Way out there idea here, buy a rolled Ranger 4x4. Take the motor and IFS from it and swap it into your Ranger. Then sell your motor and anything you have left over.

Hard decision man. I'm kinda in the same boat with my Bronco. It would cool to sell it and then mod my Ranger the way I want it, plus have some extra cash. But I've spent years with my Bronco, and its nice knowing I have a 4x4 that is paid off, that I can use for wheeling and camping. Its a hard decision.

That's an idea. Or save for a down payment on a house? Pay for schooling?

I'd love either, but actually doing a sas is unlikely. Dont have the place or know how right now or all the tools.

Too much of a pain on the 04+ wiring is different then on the 03 and older. It would have to be completely rewired.

As much as i'd love a sas'd ranger it's just not fees-able.

House is already taken care of. School for me wont be expensive and is already arranged for. I'm putting some of my money in savings. I am enjoying the vehicles while I can. I'll be married in the next 2 years and kids will follow shortly after. At that point I dont plan on spending money on toys. So i'm doing it now while I am young and can.
