Icon9 I'm screwed, so is the truck.

I just got word they chip and sealed our road.

For those that dont know what that means...

they take your road, dump a bunch of tar on it then dump limestone over the top of it. then let traffic pack it in.

so much for my paint job and windshield.

i am actually more worried about other cars that are going way too fast. they through more stones than my MTRs will.

the MTRs pick up boulders, not gravel.

Dang, they did that to our road in utah, I felt like punching the guy who did that. The only solution is to drive on the shoulder, but in snow it's nearly impossible (snow banks).

It padded down after about 5 months

That sucks. They just did that to my work's parking lot as well. Man if I had a vehicle where I actually cared about the paint I'd be screwed.

Just rent a steam roller and go finish the job for them. That should take care of packing it down in an afternoon, and it would be fun driving a steam roller!

ya zach they just "chip n sealed" our road as well. and what better timing to do it after i get my brand new exhaust put on my truck with shiney new chrome tips. its really a bummer.

but listen to this, they did this chip n seal about a week ago, and a week before this, they paved, yes paved as in fresh pavement, they paved the road. Now they are wrecking the newly paved road with this crap. and while in the process of laying the oil down, a car pulled up and they let the car go through(which hapend to be a volvo s40, along with a infiniti g35) and they drive through the freakin steaming hot oil and couple miles down the road they pulled into the parking lot i did, and oil was dripping off there wheel wells.. i was thinkin to myself, how dumb do you have to be.

had this same problem a couple of weeks ago, only problem being was i had no idea they were doing it until ride home, and i road the motorcycle in, and they put way to much gravel down, i called them when i got home and complained, next day they had the sweeper out
Oh-and they say the reason for it is that it "holds the road together" is the response i got

yeah sucks.

so many people are driving like 60mph down the road stones flying everywhere, driving like morons.

I kept it under 10mph and it was all good, atleast i only have a 1/2 mile to drive on it.

Guess it could be worse, I just hate tar and stone chips. Unless its from wheeling or having fun, then stone chips are ok.

I lost a windshield when they did the roads where i live. I guess theres no law here about having your wheels stick out farther than your fender because a crappy low rider car with his wheels sticking out about 6 inches drove past me and totaled my windshield . can't really do anything about it.

I also have dealt with that many-a-times. Always hated chip'n'seal.

They did that to the main drag here in town a while back. On the bright side, it's a main road so it gets compacted faster. The flying debris is a PITA though. Should be illegal.
