impatient spedometer
This is a new development as of this morning. When i am driving speedo reads fine. When stopped the needle moves around the 15 mph mark, fluctuating as much as down to the ten and up to the twenty, when i start to move it snaps back down to zero and then works normally.
Also my oil pressure guage is stuck below the pin. its been like this since ive gotten the truck. i feel like checking the connections on the back of the gauge cluster is a good first step, but down want to be ripping my dash apart. thanks Lee |
Crawl under the truck in the area of the driver's seat.Looking up you'll see a square plug which is a multi pin wire connector.Remove the screw and unplug it to check for any corrosion on the terminals.Coat it with dielectric grease before reconnecting.

Rarely mine will do something similar after driving or when starting up, in park sometime I can see the speedo bounce and do similar activities. Only happened 2 or 3 times. I think I have a pic of it. I will look around. Basically in park, 7-800 RPM and apparently I am moving, lol

My spedo needle will jump up a bit if I rev the engine up into the upper rpms.
