Yes, it is real. I think the Saleen only offered it from 1986-1988. Odds are it was too expensive for most people who would be interested in a Ranger.

The Saleen was essentially a street legal version of a Ranger race truck. There were small truck races in the 1980s and early 1990s, but IIRC, there were a lot of crashes and I guess it was just too dangerous to run a bunch of small trucks over 100 MPH.

While the body kit is pretty over the top, I still think it is a cool truck just because it is rare and it is a Saleen factory tuned Ranger. Hopefully someone who can appreciate it will buy it.

 

'88 only for the street.....24 total built of which 23 were '88s. i built in '92, blue, supposedly for Saleen's son. where abouts unknown, exept to a few....
