Its Official..ill be a ranger owner again....

So now i start shopping, and yes im coming back to the ranger world..id buy another PSD but id want a 7.3L and they are very hard to find up here these days..pretty $$$$$, ive got it down to a...

06 ranger Fx4 Level 2 or/
07 ranger Fx4 Level 2..

the first one is heavily modded..been in a minor accident with a deer, the guy is very upfront and hasnt lied to me yet, it has 40 000km on it 5 speed, dark red on dark gray, chrome alcoas with 33x12.50 bfg muds with a 3" lift, full stereo and tons of extras..16,000$ CAD black book is 13800$ but i understand with the multi thousands in addons..he has all the receipts...

the second one is un modded 5 speed black on dark gray,, stock.nothing fancey 20 000km 19 000$ black book 15 800$ but mint inside and out no accidents..

Depends what you want to do.

Personally I'd rather take a stock ranger and do all of the mods and upgrades myself..
So I'd lean towards the second one.

However if you really like the first truck's setup a lot then I'd say its not a horrible price for it.

Mods dont add value. Plus the fact that it has been in an accident would make me talk the price down even more. The truck itself looks really nice. If you like it then go for it, but haggle the price a little. He's asking too much. If you can get him down another $2000, you pretty much saved the cost of the tires.

I found these on Kijiji in the Edmonton area. Personally I think the prices you have found are too high.

Of the 2 the second is a better option. You can mod it yourself how you want it and it has never been in a wreck.

Wouldn't swapping out an entire auto tranny be less work than doing a clutch?

Cuz my clutch was 8 hours labour. Doing the clutch you basically rip everything apart anyways. Front driveshaft comes out, exhaust gets dropped, shifter gets pulled out, transfer case is dropped etc etc etc....

Good point...but considering my truck has 415 000km and is still on the original tranny but on it's 2nd clutch, which alone the 2 clutch jobs was 16 hours labour...

Me either, I'd keep looking or make him drop the price quite a bit. He's asking way to much and everybody knows you don't get and shouldn't expect the original value of the mods you put on it.

...not buying the red truck...came to my work today..44 000km, wheel seals on rear axle puked outta it causing the brake shows to be destroyed, drivers valve cover puked outta it, body lift improperly installed, dents all over the drivers side, pass side where the accident was could totally tell, rust all over hell and i acre, tires have 5% tread remaining, clutch was almost fu cked, took inspection rubber plug out appears to have like 20% life if that, rear diff fluid black as hell, inside of truck stains everywhere, the fan shroud was ziptied on..make me mental, told the guy he better get some things fixed before he bothers trying to sell it..

SO i went shopping tonight..300 KM later and i found another truck..
Truck..07 level 2, 23,000km....

im mental i give up on life...1 truck 300km...so im going to look at a PSD tomorrow too
