It was a pretty straight forward install. It comes with directions but I think it's easier if you leave the fan and shroud in place and come in from the bottom of the truck.

I had to remove my skidplate which subsequently dumped several pounds of dried mud all over the place. I removed my K&N intake tube and then removed the old fan belt and wedged a screwdriver between the frame and this gear looking thing behind the crank pulley to keep it from spinning while I was loosening the bolts.

I used a 1/2" Drive socket wrench, 3" extension, and shallow 13mm socket. It would have been easier to use a 1/2" drive ratchet, 3/8" adapter and a 3/8" drive, 13mm deep well socket. I would encourage the use of a DEEP socket if anyone does this.

Several times during loosening of the bolts, I had to put a wrench on the ratchet handle for more leverage, but other than that, it was pretty simple.

I then put the new pulley on, tightened all the bolts snugly and put the new gatorback belt on. This belt didn't seem that much shorter but it was a PITA to get on. I wrapped the end of my 15mm wrench with a mechanics glove, stood on my tow hook, and put every bit of *** I had to move the tensioner enough to get the belt on.

When you reinstall your intake tube, be sure you position it correctly it could hit the fan while the engine is running. (FYI)

Truck runs great so far. I'll know more after I commute to work tomorrow and back.

 

Man, be careful with that "gear looking thing" behind the crank pulley. That's the encoder wheel for the crankshaft position sensor and if you break a tooth you're in trouble.
