Looking at wheels and tires

Now that my SAS is wrapped up it's time to get tires. I'm also thinking about getting wheels though, I've narrowed it down to a couple choices and wanted to get more feedback.

Tires: I'm pretty dead set on getting 35x12.5" Toyo Open Country MT, I think they look great, have an aggressive sidewall, and as I found out from my brother in law, very quiet on the highway.

Wheels: This is where I'm unsure. I've had Eagle Alloy 185's for a couple years now, and I don't deny they are good looking wheels. I just want a change, and I feel like spokes would look good. Anyway, here are the 2 I'm thinking about.

Fuel Maverick

Examples:

Fuel Trophy

Examples

And here's the newest pics of my truck

My vote is the Mavericks. I've never seen the Trophy wheels in person, but there are several trucks around here that run the Mavericks.

This! Trophy's for sure not wild about the silver edges on the spokes on the others

Either way I go, I'm not going smaller than 17"

Probably 17" or 18"

Hopefully I can find someone to photoshop both of these onto my truck.

I was leaning to the Mavericks until I saw the Trophy's, I think either will look good.

I'd hate to get Mavericks and be looked at as another brodozer

To me, the Trophys look too much like the rims you have now to justify all the money you're going to spend on them.

I don't think there's anything wrong with my current wheels. I've just gotten that bigger wheel itch, and I feel like this might be a chance to change it up.

I figured it's best to get wheels now since I'm already thinking about it, then get new tires and have to wait until they wear down.

On a side note, does anyone know someone good with photoshop?

I like both, but I vote Maverick because the trophy doesn't look much different than your current setup.

On a side note, that is a good looking raptor

I love the look of 35s on 20s, but its not enough sidewall to air down significantly when you need to IMO

35s on 20s should give you the same sidewall height as the stock setup. I've really been considering 20s too.

True, but proportionally it does not. I definitely get the argument though, you aren't losing any sidewall, you just aren't increasing it when increasing tires which could be an advantage offroad. I really don't think you can go wrong either way though.

I can zoom in on it on my phone. I still vote the Mavericks.

Unrelated question: What setup to do you for window tint? I'm getting mine redone soon. I like that look.

I can definitely see both sides of the coin on this. It's really just a matter of preference and your needs for the truck. Like you said, it can go either way.

After seeing this I like mavericks the best.

Tint is 20% over factory on the back windows, 20% on the front sides

After spending an absurd amount of times googling and browsing Fuel's Facebook page, I may just go with 18's

20's on a truck the size of a Ranger seem a little much, 18's seem to be just right.

I'm leaning more toward Mavericks at this point

Have you looked at pics of Mark's truck? He had 20s when he wrecked it. I had the same thoughts about 20s until I saw his, then I started to reconsider.

I'd go with the trophy's and 17's. 18's would look pretty good as well but I wouldn't go any bigger. If the mavericks were all black I'd like them more but the silver on the spokes bugs me. Bottom line, both are cool looking rims that will look great on your truck!

Yea, I remember his truck and also Randy (rstangboi) has 20's now. I love the look. The price jump is a little hard to swallow

After seeing them photoshopped it reminds me a lot of my current rims. Plus the silver lips sticks out more than I thought

I feel like Trophy's need to be bigger to even discern the wheels design. The spokes seem close together

This was my problem with my future wheels as well. The spokes are to small in 15" and 16" diameter, but the 17"+ looks just right.
