I've been looking at different kinds of bedliners. Which kind do you guys think I should get: DIY Paint on or spray on like a line-x or rhino

Depends how often its going to be used. Me personally if I were going to do one it would be the DIY. I could fix it whenever I wanted and would save myself tons of cash.

if youve got the cash, get a line x or rhinoliner.

thats one of the next things i plan on doing in my truck.

if you've got the skill, DIY for sure.

DIY doesn't compare to a pro spray on. You just can't get it as thick as a pro spray on.

Hopefully I get line x done this summer. I am sick of my drop-in eating away at my paint. I would also not do it myself. Sure you save $300, but I hate knowing every little imperfection by heart.

I have a rhino liner and in no way is it worth the cash unless its going to be used as a work truck or show truck.

I had the line x sprayed in it is worth the $300
I put a stand up jet ski in the back of my truck and it work's great.
the spray in liner's help stuff in the bed not slide so much. And it won't rust out.

Do it right, get the real thing. Cannot beat a lifetime gaurantee.

The DIY stuff can and will chip. I've seen it.

I have a crappy dro pin plastic liner and the day I have some money to rip it out and do a rhini liner, I'm doing it. In the 7 months I've had my truck, I've hauled everything from mountain bikes to a cut up cab and frame of an old truck, to furniture and snowblowers...The tops of my bed rails have taken a beating and my liner is getting scratched and gouged by sharp stuff.

Because I use my truck so often for work/hauling purposes, a spray in bedliner it worth it for me. Also that the truck is 7 years old now, it will help protect the truck from rust. If I do the bedliner, I will also have my rockers and lower doors done at the same time.

As my sig says "Going cheap always costs more" because you either get low quality or have to upgrade or redo something if you didn't do it right the first time.

Yep, the DIY stuff can chip, 1st hand experience on that one. Save up for the thicker pro job. And I agree totally on getting the rockers and lower doors done too; Its cheap insurance.

I absolutely loved my Line-X on the Ranger. Had it for just under 5 years and when it was clean it still looked like it just came out of the shop.

I had a buddy who had a 91 Mazda pickup and he totally sanded down and cleaned the bed and did like crazy amazing prep work, but he cheaped out and sprayed the bed with 2 coats of rattle can rocker gaurd. He had it chipping and peeling within a month of hauling his dirtbike and carrying some steel and stuff for work. You probably could have taken a paint scraper and just stripped the entire bed with it.

I found a company while in Indianapolis at the 4-Wheel Jamboree called Al's Liner. They sell the paint and gun to spray it with for like $150 as a kit. haven't tried it yet, Maybe I will this summer.
