What Makes Ranger Owners Different...

I know I have alot of ideas behind what the difference is, between a Ford Ranger owner, and most other drivers... But I just wanted to see what you guys thought...

I think ranger owners only feel different once the vehicle is modified.

But that goes for anyone one and any vehicle.

This topic sucks. lol

We are content.

We can park our trucks without backing in and out of the mall space 10 times to fit it in.

We'd never own a rolex.

We believe in the American Dream.

We...are....Hank Hill.

what i was getting at.

is like...

what seperates us from other people.

what makes a ranger site different from let's say... an f150 site. f250 site.

a ranger is an entry level pickup. sure there are $25,000 versions. but there are also $10,000 ones. (brand new)...

it gets us alot more down to earth people, in my opinion.

less inflated egos(though we do still have our fair share)...

not as many 16 yr olds on 44" tires with superchargers.. etc...

Yea, im with zach, most active members are in the age demo of 17-30. Which means, someone else is/has goen through something similar and makes people alot closer.

Also, on the forums side of things. I love it here. I got to fullsize truck boards, and your nothing if your not the a big name shop owner, with some ungodly huge truck. And everyoens a ***** when it comes time to answering a ?.

I used to help run a HUGE (100,000+Members) forum. Everyone got way too cocky (members), and has no respect for anyone but themselves. Here, its like everyone is here for everyone else. Helpful, knowledgeable, and tight-nit. Which is good because its easy to get into the forum and become a 'regular'. There arent any 'elitists' like where I was before, which is AWSOME. Its nice when everyone, including staff, is on the same level as everyone else.

For me it's the first step in my list of trucks. I hope to slowly work my way up to like an F350. Next will be an F150 in a few years and growing from there.

But in my area, it's dissapointing that most of the people driving Rangers are the people that don't care for cars and just want to get from point A to point B. But I wave to the few that are modded. Lifted, lowered, or just a few cosmetic mods, I wave.

I know that through this site (and the old GE) i ahve met alot of people who i now consider friends. I mean how cool is it to spend a day off-roading with a group of guys/gals who love their rangers as much as i do. Plus its always cool to drool over the mods on their trucks But what makes me different then lets say the full size Ford owners, i really believe that bescides the wrangler the ranger is the best off-road truck out there. And onroad it kills the wrangler hands down. It is the perfect size and i have surprised myself time after time on what my truck can do off the road. Plus everytime i look at my avatar/pics/see my truck sitting in my parking lot here at SLO i love it (although i do get jellous of the 2 LVL2s sitting right next to me lol).

I'm gonna go with the whole hank hill thing too... but I have another side that just loves speed I think I need a second vehicle ( and leo's got me drooling over a Fox Body) I wish there was a Mustang forum that was as nice as this place so I know where to start looking.

I think of it sort of the way I think of A&M... Aggies take care of Aggies. Ranger owners take care of Ranger owners. There's more 'human interest' here than other places. We aren't the people who build up our trucks to show off. If we had the money to do that, we'd drive huge fullsize trucks. We've got what our modest means can supply for us. We do this because we love the people, we love the trucks, and we love the seamless correlation between the two.

I like this topic. I've found on other sites guys have more $$$ than brains and it shows....

Most people here aren't people who act "high and mighty".....full of themeselves...etc,etc.

Ranger guys are more "practical" if that makes sense....

the reason i got my ranger is i like compact trucks lifted.i like a truck with bigger tires than the truck.plus i wouldnt drive anything other than a ford.it feels good to drive a ranger around town thats alot taller than f250 and most trucks at that.
