Key off operation

My '99 Ranger XLT Would let you roll up the windows and listen to the radio after you turned the key off until you opened the door. I now have a 2002 XLT that as soon as you turn the key off nothing works. Thoughts?

I think the Accessory Delay Relay setup was last used in 2000 in Rangers

You could add something similar if you want

Fuse #20, 7.5amp, in cab fuse box powers the Window RELAY, not the windows, when you turn off the key fuse #20 loses power, so relay opens and power is cut to the windows
You want to leave the fuse 20 power on until door is opened?

Door switch is a Ground trigger, i.e. the switch in the door is OPEN when door is CLOSED, and closed when door is open, so when you open the door the wire is grounded and "door ajar" light comes on, you need to find that wire behind drivers kick panel, should be a Yellow/black stripe wire

Have a read here: https://www.the12volt.com/relays/spe...tions.asp#drto
Radio On Until Door Opened (Retained Accessory Power)

same thing, and you could include the radio as well as the window relay
If you want to know the window relay in is Relay Box 1 which is under the dash above gas pedal area, probably 5 or 6 relays in there.
No need to get to it, fuse #20 is what you need to power until door opens
