I have python installed on my truck, you can install it yourself but, I had mine istalled for me at Auto Radio, and thats also where I bought it from, it ran me about a little over 200 i think... they told me it was pretty easy to install but, I had to go to work and so I just let them install it.

Shane I just got the Viper 5900 w/ remote start...its def. nice having the shock sensor and the starter kill...the hood open alarm...and of course the remote start. I wanted to install it myself but I am not the best electrician and buddy when I looked in that box I got scared lol...so I let them install it. It has been good so far...it just has needed some tweaking

I went to cartoys and had a cliford alarm put in. I had them add a second shock sensor and I have a contact on my rear window(looks like crap). if you can install it yourself you'll save quite a bit i think they charged me 3 hours of labor at $100 a hour. thats more than the alarm cost itself but i had to get it done people were starting to hit cars in the neighborhood. anyways the onlything I wish i would have gone with is adding remote start it would have been nice on cold days.

Thanks guys. I've been thinking about one of those Clifford Matrix 12's.

Opinions?
I'll probably hook the remote up to my aftermarket keyless entry(yet to be installed lol). No remote start for me...manual trans yo.

I got a black widow. I was going to go with a viper, but a friend has a shop and he gave me a deal. I got it so the windows automatically go up, a back up battery, and an extra siren in the cab. I had it go off accidently when I was inside and it was actually painful to be in the cab. I did that so hopefully an intruder won't want to deal with the pain.
FYI: You CAN have auto start feature activated even with a manual. My alarm has the feature, the only thing is, when activating the alarm you have to do a "shut down" process. That way the alarm knows the car is in neutral, and will bypass the clutch. I was surprised when I read this in the book.
