Thule bars on a truck?

I'm trying to go for a unique look, and recently found my family's old Thule bars that went on our old SUV.

Has anyone ever mounted an type of bars like those on their truck? how does it look? I just need to figure out what to mount them to since Rangers don't have the rails..

if possible mount them up the same way everyone did with their kc light bars, i'm sure redneckstone will probably chime in here eventually and post a few pics of how he did that. basically you peel back the weather stripping on the inner top part of the doorjam and screw it on with self tapping screws, then seal them up so water dont leak in. replace weather strip and enjoy. as far as i know..

Are you saying mount the thule bars on behind the weather strip or the bars in which they need to go on to?

mount the bars on the actual roof part behind the weather stripping, not the little rails the weather stripping goes on... like so.

you may have to fabricate some brackets of some sort but it'll work, and it'll work sturdy.

That looks like a really good idea. I'll try to see what I can come up with. Now the trick is to find the roof rack that I need to hook the rails onto.

It's probably too long for the Ranger..
