Somebody told you that you had to change out the rear axle in order to put in a body lift? Please be more educated with your questions, yahoo answers would even get this one right.

I once told a former coworker that I swapped #1 torsion bars into my truck. He knew my truck was 4x2, but he somehow twisted what I told him into "You can swap torsion bars into any Ranger ever", and even told customers with coil spring trucks that they could swap torsion bars in their truck for more lift.

Answer: A body lift lifts only the body away from the frame. The drivetrain, suspension and engine are not altered in any way with a body lift. You are able to use a body lift without changing any other components on the truck.

An axle will never have to be swapped during a lift except for very special applications.
