Lifting rangers
 

I've been a ranger owner since 1985, but i don't understand why people when lifting their trucks will do it this way: (for example) 3"suspension lift, 3" body lift with aal's/blocks and spindles. why not just get a 6 inch suspension lift?or a 4" body lift? and what does a "double lift" mean?

if it's a suspension lift and a body lift, why not just get one or the other?

it would make more sense to have one "lift" done than several small ones

ok first only with TTB rangers do they offer large lifts.

all SLA rangers there is only the 4" superlift and 5" RCD..

so to get higher they body lift due to lack of more lift.. that is why..

another main reason is cost, that would be why i have a body lift over a superlift.. is just cost. does the same thing of allowing me to fit 33's for cheaper

sometimes there is no 6" lift available
some people can't afford a 6" lift
the t-bar rangers are limited to the 5" RCD, the 3" body lift would give them even more.. and hence "double lift" cause it has 2 lifts on it..

The reason: is the avaliability of lift kits.


Torsion bar 2wd's only option is a 3" spindle. There's no 6" lift out there for them, unless they go camburg.


Me......on my torsion bar 4x4.....I would be plenty happy with a 6" suspension lift...but...none exist for my truck.



It's all about lift kit availability. There aren't much options.

Yes, thats what sucks about the 98+ Rangers, the TTB Rangers have more options.

Nope. In fact Camburg's 2wd torsion bar is only a 3" lift, the other 3" comes from cranking the t-bars. Only the 2wd coil rangers have a 6" lift option.

As well, a 4 inch body lift will be a death trap on the road. There is too much leverage caused by the chassis when lifted that high off the frame. The bolts will literally shear right off.

Camburgs is a 5.5" for Coil Spring.

Fab-Tech offers 5.5 by this method, 3 inch spindle and 2.5 Coil and new UCA for 5.5"
Net lift or just 3" or just 2.5".

Then you can mix and match a body lift in there for what ever reason if so desired.
