So when I get this D44 under the truck I want to run something bigger than a 15" wheel.

So I have these wheels picked out, I was pretty sure I wanted 17s but now that I am looking at tires I don't see that many 17" sizes, unless I am just blind.

Is 17" not a good idea? I mean I want to run a wheel that is going to give me a lot of tire options.

btw I am looking to run a 37x12.5x17 or a 38x12.5x17

the wheels I have picked out come in 16x8,17x8,17x9,18x9.5,20x9

 

i have noticed alot more sizes now availble in 18s

look around you might want to consider that

the 18" tires seem to be a little less too.

nah i want to still get 30k+ miles on them closer to 40k..

I agree with the 18s. Your truck is going to look even more amazing on 37s or 38s.

 

i think that because the new trend of big wheels and big thin tires you will find them to be a little cheaper and you could prob find some agressive all terrians that would last a long time

Mud grapplers? Or even TSL Radial tires will get high(er) milage.

IROK's are VERY soft compound, so whatch out.

If it were me (b/c my truck rarely sees mud anymore) I'd run 18's on 38" Toyo M/T's (if they offer that size) and I'd go WIDE!!!

Either that or just save money and go 18's on 38" TSL's or SSR radials.

SSR radials might be good for ya, decent price and they last a decent time!

I know a guy thats got 17'' Helo Maxx 8's on a 37x12.5, i can get a picture if you want? So you can see what itd look like.


I think an 18x9 on a 38'' tire would look pretty sick on your truck!, Although anything would lol, no matter what road you go itll look good

well wider then a 12.5 in the snow with a light ranger sucks! heck 12.5 is pushing it. it just does not cut through the snow like i need it to, I can make it work just its an adventure. lol

but they do make the mud grappler in 37x13.5x18... hehe

Ever consider running 16.5s? You can get hummer wheels with double beadlocks and 36" tires for a sweet deal. Most of them are even run-flats.

16.5" wheels and tires are about a thing of the past.....both tire and wheel manufactures have pretty much all but stopped production on that size....

i say a 17" wheel Beard....

 

I was about to go 17" on my truck but 18" was like 10 bucks more per rim and I found alot wider selection of tires in 18s. Although I went low profile its just my experience.

yeah scott I like the MTRs but I have not tried many other tires. Need to try a few more then go back to MTRs if I think they were the best.
