Long trip in a few weeks, What to expect for gas mileage.

I am going down to arkansas towards the end of the month. I have a 4l auto 2wd, The trip is 270 miles each way, majority of it I will just set cruise and let it go. The speed limit is 70 if I remember right on the highway. I will probally set it at 75, so say a consistant 75 for 200 miles. what do yall think I SHOULD get?

Obviously weather, wind, and road conditions (highway is fairly flat) will affect it, but just wondering what everyone else has gotten with a similar setup.

Day to day i am getting 16.5 avg. thats 20 miles each way, city and highway.

Why not go 65? If you are that worried about the mileage you will save more doing that.

Not really worried, just curious. I would go 65, but most of the time on 71hwy, whenever I am on there, it causes traffic problems if someone goes 65.

for every 5mph over 55mph you lose 5% fuel range.

so, at 70mph your automatically losing 15% right off the top.

It really depends on the vehicle, so thats not always true.

with my ultra gauge, i get the best mpgs when i'm at 57/58, and when i go faster than that, its when i'm at 67 mph.
