Towing with my 3.0

I have a 2001, 3.0 auto 2wd ranger. I need to tow my 5.0 fox mustang about 80-100 miles on a open deck car trailer. Its mostly all high way driving. Is this possible?

Probably. Check your owners manual for tow ratings. If you don't have the manual then look here

Regular cab or supercab? Torsion bars or springs?

mine pulls pretty good, and i have 35"s. not saying you'll make it in record time but you'll make it

Just keep the rpm's up and mind your braking distances.......it'll be fine

how heavy is the trailer? and how heavy is the Mustang? It can be done.. I've seen worse.. 2wd yota's pulling fullsize trucks on a dual axle trailer. in AZ in the summer... Im sure that yota was pissed,, if it even made it..

Get the weight distrabution on the trailer right. & be damn careful.

Its the reg cab with the 7 foot bed. It has the leaf springs in the back and coils in the front. I may be throwing some 31x10.5x15 on there. Would those be better than the stockers? Or should I leave the smaller tires on for the tow?
