ive wheeled two rigs that were geared properly and had decent clutches. you could let the clutch out without giving it any gas and it would just crawl. but i would still prefer an auto.

I've wheeled autos and manuals and I like the auto more. Reason being you dont have to worry about riding the clutch and burning it up or accidently letting to much clutch out and end up doing something you didnt want to. I have had plenty of experience with manuals so dont say i am just a noob at it. It just seems easier to wheel with a auto.

I run manual because of the full control. There is nothing like going downhill in 1st gear low with no brakes. The only problem is that the manual in Rangers are trash. The only advantage I see the auto having is not rolling back when you go to take off but if you know how to drive a manual correctly then you shouldn't roll back much or at all.

i have a manual... somedays i think it would be nice to wheel an automatic..
with the manual you also run the risk of packing the clutch with mud dirt and water when in a really deep hole. but i love the manual for when your in 4low you can just crawl and dont really have to clutch it a whole lot which is nice.. a manual is a pain in the *** in town with the traffic and stuff. i wouldnt mind finding a 77-79 F150 to build a wheeler out of it and i want put an automatic into it.
