yes another thread. lol roll pan thread!

this isnt about buying the roll pan or not, ive already decided i want it. what im asking is how should i tie it into my current paint scheme

i would paint it to match, but i know that when put right next to eachother, the duplicolor spraycan paint wont match up perfectly. and it will probably be noticeable.

therefore im left with tying it into my current theme of the lower rocker panels painted black. all i can think of right now is to have the black start curving up a litle after the wheel well up to the top of where the roll pan is so that way i can paint the entire roll pan black. like so

or having the paint go upwards at an angle right after the rear wheel well.
like this

please excuse my poor photobucket editing skillz lmao
either one i go with, will tie into the roll pan, right at the top of it. and the entire roll pan would be painted black.

if you have any other ideas of how to tie it all in please share. feel free to chop the UNshopped pic haha

Do you ever just settle on one thing? LOL I'm not sure how well this would look but just paint the bottom part of the roll pan. Just keep the paint the same level all the way around.

Personally I would go get it done at a shop where they will spray it the same color and clear it. Or paint it black! leave the bedsides, if you want to have more black to tie it into the truck do the tailgate black too.

I just think it would be more of a clean look that way. If you roll the paint up into it and paint the whole pan black then I think it will just look out of place.

It will look like you were taking shortcuts by painting it black with weird angles just so it could be incorporated so you wouldn't have to have it professionally done.

Paint it silver. I would do it for you if you were closer and if i had a sample of the color handy (a real part off the truck to compare too).

Well, you aren't that far but still.

there are too many variables to accurately mix a 100% accurate match out of any can. Thats why us painters have to learn to color match and tint.

Here is what I would do. i would go to a local paint store and see if any of the guys there do side work. Lots of them do. If you find a guy there that can or will, give them the roll pan, and bring them your gas door as well. They can use the gas door as a large sample to tint off of. It can be done. It might not be perfect, but Duplicolor will not match out of the can. It will be cheap however.

I think D'Angelos is a major paint store out there. Give them a shot.

i agree wqith the above... you can do it yourself, if you do, go to a auto body supply store, and get them to colour match your truck, (i would not bring your paint code in, as it won't be as near of a match) and get them to put it in a rattle can for you... then you can do what ever you like... but i would keep the same line... the angle on the back looks funny... as it is, i never noticed that black stripe around the bottom of your truck... it just looks like your truck sits that much higher... the black angle thing makes you notice it

I would say go with the last pic idea... It will make your truck appear taller from the side so why not.

I don't think roll pans look "right" with hitches. If it were me i'd paint it silver.

i think u should give the duplicolor a try but continue the black just along the bottom so it lines up with the black you already have...those roll pans make lifted trucks look higher so i think itll look good
