decided to throw a truss on there got the tubes and every thing else welded inside and out
got the yukon 4.88 r+p and master install kit, notched crosspin, and aussie locker, solid diff cover all sitting here
Im just waiting on the superior kit to get here, should be early next week,
I still got to cut the end of the tubes off for the kit, then I will get every thing installed













I decided to leave the spring under perches on, they guard the bottom of the u-bolts
and if I sell it, it will have either option for potential buyers

Did you get the ruffstuff kit? If you did the ubolt plates won't fit over the skyjacker leafspring bolts.

the truss was made by Barnes 4wd, i got thicker ubolts but stock plates

 

damn I thought I had to have it....lol

 

Actually I'm not entirely sure you can use a notched pin with the aussie. Either way they are quite a bit weaker than the stock pin. All you gotta do to get the stock pin to fit is grind a little off the tip of a couple teeth on the ring gear.

I agree, get a regular cross pin. You will need to grind the ring gear just a touch, that's what I did with my 31 spline 8.8 with 4.88s and Aussie. I would not want a notched pin with those gears and the locker.

Looks solid man. Is it that much more useful to have the big cross bracing?

 

it definatly helps prevent axle tubes from bending, and it also makes a good platform for mounts
if I ever wanted to four link it or even somthin simple like a traction bar
but I just put it on there to look cool

 

why would you build a truss and not tie it into the diff housing? that doesnt make sense to me..

 

most tie to the cover, but cost a bunch, I though about boxing it in, but there is no need it will never have bigger that 37's on it

 

the reason ppl tie the tubes to the cover is to make sure the plug welds dont fail which would cause the axle tubes to spin..

 

and its ginormously tall lol dislike the tallness.

Welding looks good, and the spring perches are bad @ss.
Did your axle come with the disc brakes?

 

the spring perches are from balistic fab, they are nice pieces of metal

I'd guess the truss is designed like that for a 3 link, thats probably why its that tall.

 

got the superior kit installed.... I ment to take more pics of the install prosses
they said you could do it with a hacksaw and file so I tested it out

got it all painted and mostly put back togather, I left the shafts loose because Im going to drop it off
this weekend for the regear and locker install, and then throw it under the truck....finaly
