I bought my Edge new in '02. It's got a 73,000 and some change. It has developed a small leak in the timing cover. It's going to run between $800-$900. I've found an '05 Sport Trac http://www.carmax.com/enUS/view-car/...0-3f53a1aff26a. I have a 2yr old son, so we could use another vehicle with some extra room. I guess this is a 2 part question. 1)Would you leave the spindles, wheels/tires, etc on the Edge and git rid of it or, swap everything onto the Sport Trac? It looks like the Sport Trac may have 17" wheels like my wife's Explorer. If that's the case, the rotors may be too big for the spindles or the 15" rockcrawlers. I'm not even sure it would increase the value of it anyway. The downside is, I'll be slightly upside-down. Back before my VA disability kicked in at the end of '04, we had no income. Due to my inability to work, Ford reduced the payment. Thus still paying on it. So 2) Is it even worth the bother. Fix the Edge and be done with it? I'm about to pull my hair out( what little bit I haven't shaved off).

 

personally, I'd just fix the truck for now until you are better set financially to get another vehicle.
