Well if you do it yourself (not hard at all) then it wouldn't be more than 30-40 dollars I do believe. Head to you local parts store and they will set you up with a kit...

Yea autozone or any other parts store. They all should have it. It's a couple of cans of the freon and a connector tube/fitting with a pressure gauge. Like the goose said, not much to doing it at all, although normally you have to empty the system first, which should be done by a shop with a vaccum. Depends how low it is and why it's that low.

If you're buying a vehicle shouldn't you know more about it? Or maybe that's just me.

yeah... my cousins had matching 4x4 ram 1500's for a couple years, except one had a 318 and the other had the 360... the 360 felt like it had a TON more power to me

lol ill get some later on today... i couldnt sleep really last night i mean this trucks everything ive wanted its a fullsize, reg cab. v8 a/c powerwindows... only thing i have to replace is the rear slider... which im not worried about right now... only thing im concerned about is surface rust which i cant really complain since im trading in my less power ranger for it.. surface rust is what ive been really worried about because i dont want to be disapointed.. ill get some pictures up tonight (when its still light out of course).

Edit: as you can see i havent seen the truck yet so i have a lot of questions runing through my mind lol.. but hey if its just surface rust (not a lot) i can always save up for another paint job.. either way im not paying a penny for it which is nice.

I don't think I'd be jumping into purchasing another vehicle with the trans slipping. A rebuild for a trans starts at about $1200 and goes up, usually up.

I agree, we had a company truck at my old job that was a dodge, it had 5 trans. in it before it hit 100K. The paint was flaking of like a **** and it was pretty rusty. Hopefully this vehicle is in good shape and runs good for him.

alright, i cant seem to upload any pictures but.. heres what it looks like 1 the tranny isnt slipping.. in 2nd gear when your going you have to take ur foot off the gas so it shifts into 3rd (sometimes not always) it shifts so nicely. 2 I did NOT pay a dime for this truck i traded my ranger..equal swap. 3 yes paint has flaked a tiny bit where the headlights are not a problem the truck is a 95 i would hope to see some kind of cosmetic problem. 4 there is no rust basically under the truck.. the guy put all new shocks ball joints water pump in it. it rides like a caddy lol.. the engine flicked right over no problem, matter of fact the engine looked brand spankin new, very clean it was elderly owned. only thing that i see that needs repairs is the back bumper, and it needs a little TLC to clean it up inside like armorall it or whatever. tranny shifts smoothly has the 318 in it (dodge best engine) now i need to get a good exhause for it, the one now is junk so i have 400 bucks from graduation im going to need to do.. so im thinking dual flowmaster 40 series (2 mufflers)? anyways ill get some pictures tommoro the truck is nice.. it looks like i could fit 33's in there lol but who knows im happy with it and cant wait to get it next week.

edit: oh it has power windows, power locks a/c... ive never had a/c or power windows in my ranger so.. im really excited.

^^^Good for you, I am glad your happy with it. That trans. needs to be looked at if thats the only way it will shift. I would take it in before it causes you problems, maybe its a solenoid or something. Change the trans fluid and put a trans cooler on it. I think in that year Ram you can me it true duals but make sure you have them install a "X" or "H" pipe before the mufflers or you could loose some low end torque. I agree, the 318 is one of the best motor dodge made. How many miels are on it? Photobucket is best for uploading pics and its free.
