lost a friend...

wel, this morning i woke up to my dog screaming, she had a bad back already, and her discs in her back ended up shattering, causing her to become paralyzed...so me and my mom took her to the vet and we had to make the choice to put her down...my mom couldnt be in there while they did it, but i loved her...and i wanted her to know everything will be okay...so i stayed until she took her last breathe...i miss her so much already, bu shes in a better place now...

ive had to put a couple animals down. my cat on my birthday about 4 years ago. that was a crappy feeling. i'm sorry for your loss.
bad back, is that dog a dachshund or similar breed that has back problems?

don't just get another dog for the sake of getting one. when the time is right, the new one will choose you.

Sorry to hear man. I had to put my 15y/o dog down around my birthday last year. It's not easy, but like you said they aren't suffering anymore and are in a better place.

I remember when i lost my dog of 8 years, he was the perfect dog until the day we had to put him down. It gets easier with time, but every once in awhile something will trigger a memory of him. They really are man's bestfriend. Sorry for your loss man.

Sorry to hear about your dog.

My dog died last year and we had her since I was in kindergarten (I'm in my 4th of college). It was hard to see her go

For most of us its the same when a pet dies as when a normal family member dies. I still remember my dalmatian, loved that dog, even though he was dumb as ****

Sorry to hear. We had to put my 16 year old dog down in November. She couldn't walk anymore. She lived a long and happy life.

Sorry to hear that man. We had to put a dog down in 2004 and it was hard to deal with. I couldn't even take him to the vet to get it done but he was pretty bad at the end so it had to be done. We really were selfish in keeping him around for too long.

It gets easier over time, but it still sucks. Keep the good memories around of your buddy and remember the good times. Every dog I had has been a great friend and a loving member of the family. We have two now and we have had them for a while now so this topic is hitting close to home for me now too. One of our dachshunds is getting old now and she recently has gone almost totally blind. It's only a matter of time but she is still a great, friendly dog and I am just doing what I can to make her comfy and happy until it's time. It might be years, it might only be months but until then, I will make those days count.

Take care man. It's a ****ty thing to have to go through, but it will be easier.

Sorry to hear man. I have a two year old dog now. First dog I've ever had, so i've never had to deal with something like this. It makes me sick thinking about the day Ozzy passes on.

I saw your facebook post, sorry to hear about the loss.

My dog turned 10 this month. She's getting old and it's starting to show, her eyes are getting bad and she has arthritis. She sleeps most of the day. I've had her since I was 7 or 8 when we moved to our new house in Tallmadge. She literally grew up with me and the house. She's such a good dog and she is loving and it always the main attraction when we have people over. It will be a sad day when she goes. I hope I'm here when it happens though, I would hate to be on station somewhere and no be able to say goodbye.
