Icon8 Loose headlight assemblies on a 2001 ford ranger

Am I the only one that has this problem? My headlites jiggle around when driving down the road and its very annoying. The 2 tab things are all ok ant the shafts that the tabs slide onto are fine. Dont know what else to do?

Chk that both mounting tabs are in place AND that the sliding bar that holds the hsg is slide all the way down.

You may need to remove the assemble before putting it back in correctly.
May need a little WD40.

added: when reinstalling the hsg, hold it in near the edges, then attempt to slide the bar to the locked position.
After that shake the unit a little to see if secured.

Mine do it too, but it's because of my aftermarket header panel. Bought a plastic replacement from eBay a few years back and the things been jiggling ever since. Wish I could find a fiberglass one.

What about putting a rubber washer or spacer between the header panel and the headlight assembly? I have not run across this problem but I could see where it could be a pain!

In this picture, they move some at top right to bottom left. have tried messing with the adjusters some but cant change them enough to make headlites feel secure because the aim is effected to much. Why ford didnt put an ajuster shaft at all for corners is behond but I dont think I would have this problem if they did.

sounds stupid, but correctly measure and aim etc then zip tie the exposed post to take up space.

much like the throttle cable mod

There is no exposed post. The housings only have 3 post from the factory.

You gave me an idea. I had a couple pieces of foam rubber and I bunched it up and put it behind the housings and now they dont move at all. Thanks alot... you the man.
