its hot out, thanks OHC

So I finished installing my OHC yesterday. I ablsolutely love it! best mod I have done and well worth the little money it costed. Grigg's write up was amazing and mad the install a walk in the park.

Took under 2 hours to install in weather that was 90-100 degrees and very humid. Took several breaks to grab cold ones.

Driving back from my frat house today, I snapped a pic of the temp read out on the OHC while i was parked. 100. In Worcester I got a reading of 104!!!

heres the pics:

remember if you do a lot of stop and go it may not read 100% correct. but its usually pretty close.

mine will read 104-105 and i know its not that hot out. but with normal driving its right on the money.

Looks good.

OHC is one of the best mods you can do.

I also installed mine when it was in the upper 90's it sucked. I have seen it over 100 twice this year. That was on back to back days and I was going 45mph each time.

The worst you will see it get is when you're stuck in traffic on an extremely hot day, usually on a 2-3 lane highway. Mine actually read 110 in that crap 2 years ago... you can bet your *** I was wishing I had AC in my truck then.

I know how that goes and I live in alabama! A few years ago the day after xmas it was 75 and we had a lot of tornado warnings going on. When I woke up the net morning we had 2 inches of snow and it was 30 out. Talk about crazy weather in the south.

yeah i wanted to go that route, but, i wanted more light in the cab of my truck., plus the OHC makes the inside of my truck look alot nicer.

heres some infore on the VAR settings, i got it from. http://www.fullsizebronco.com.
direct link to the thread on the forums.
http://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/...ad.php?t=11670

These are the zones used for programing the compass

To acctually calibrate the compass:

Go find an abandoned parking lot and follow the following steps:

Press and hold the "MODE" button until you see "VAR" (takes around 5 seconds)
Release the "MODE" button. Push the "MODE" button until you have selected the zone you are currently in.

Release the "MODE" button and wait until the console is back at normal operation.

Press and hold the "MODE" button until you see "CAL" (takes around 9 seconds)

Release the "MODE" button.

Now the fun part. People will think you are crazy. Drive in a circle at around 3mph. Your console will be changing direction really fast. Continue to do this until the console is back at normal operations

i asked what the VAR setting was almost a year ago and no one answered me, so i found out myself, well, i looked in my ex g/f's mom's owners manual haha.

Got mine calibrated to Zone 4. That's what it looked like I should've been in from another graphic I saw, but it wasn't as clear as this one. Looks like I should be in 3 on this graphic, but it seems to be reading correctly. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it's really bothering you.
