Might buy??
My neighbor is selling a 1999 ranger 4x4 with 112,000 miles. He said he will give it to me for 1500 because it needs new tires and a new clutch. My question is, is this a good deal and how much does a new clutch usually cost? The outside is in excellent shape, one scratch on the passenger fender but who cares. It seems like a decent deal even though I have to get tires and a clutch. What do you think?

i had to put a clutch in my car and it cost $750... parts arent bad but the labor kills you
Yeah, I'm just wondering what the parts would cost. My buddy lives a couple hours away but can do it for free.
that always helps...tires can be pricey too
Seems like a pretty darn good price even with the work needed. What engine? Extended or Regular cab?
Extended cab with the V6. He is also going to throw in a new battery.
If the motor runs good I would jump on it. Clutch's aren't that expensive.

what v6 does it have
Im pretty sure the 4.0L
good running motor
yeah and I know the guy real well. He is crazy about his cars. Takes care of them real well, oil changes. Everything. He just did some work to it too
buy it, get a decent clutch and do it yourself to save some money
sounds like a great deal. clutches aren't that bad if your doing them yourselves its the labor cost that gets most people and that many miles on a 4.0 is nothing.
Alright I'm gonna go for it then. I wanna lift it and do some **** to it
well lifting it is the best way to go. and there is plenty of **** to do
Yeah I would get it for sure. If its got the 4.0 OHV that engine is bulletproof, very reliable. I've got 185k on mine and I can still punch it and floor it and it takes it with ease.

Great price, i say go for it.
