MIGHT be getting a new truck...
well i have decided to trade in my ranger if possible. SO i want something bigger and better and might as well do it big to begin with. i am trying to get ahold of this f250. i have been discussing it and might get away with it for only 23 after everything is said and done. in which case would be ok with me. i will know by sat if i will be able to get financing and if the deal will go according to plan. heres the truck...

i like the lifted one. i chose that one particular cause i especially like the look of the lifted 250s and i love the leather, wood, full power and etc. its a 6L diesel. the gas bill wont be that bad. on a full tank it gets about 450mi. so for me. 50-60 bucks for almost 500 mi isnt that bad i think. one full tank of gas would last me bout 3 weeks or so. im ok with that. only thing i think it needs is a ginormouse stereo, which i can do real nicely cause my job and cause of what ive already got that i can swap out of my ranger, a nice billet grille, and a blue HID conversion kit that i can get from my grandfathers shop for a nice price. hell i might even go so far as to put a few performance parts on it. haha ill put a nice sized BOV on there so i can have the psshhhh. hopefully it works out.

Diesel's don't run BOV's The turbo on there is a variable geometry turbo. It spools up fast like a small turbo and then the vanes change geometry and then it acts like a big turbo. Pretty much eliminates turbo lag all together. As for 7.3 vs 6.0 I would personally get the 7.3. But that is only because there are more performance parts out there for it right now. However, the 6.0 will destroy a stock 7.3! I know what I am talking about because I work for International and see these engines every day.

anything i beleave 2001 and newer is the 6.0L it is a ****ty motor with its powder steel rods. that one of the motors my father is working at ford to make better because of its lack of performance. once you put chips or yadada on it the motor cant handle it the newest 2005 6.0l are getting better. acully the best power stroke is the 99 motor in how it was make the last few 7.3L had the powder steel rods and were junk also. i would wait for the big burtha the should come out shortly its the newest motor ford is working on its a twin turbo deisel

The 6.0's are not bad motors if you have one that works well, but since 2003 was the first year for them, i'd be extremely careful about buying it. Make sure you get a nice little test drive in before you sign any papers if you do decide to buy it. There are many 6.0's out there that are running perfect, but if you get one with problems, it'll be your worst nightmare. With thats said, good luck if you do decide to get it because those superduties are in my opinion some of the coolest trucks on the road.

Hey Zach, we have 2 trucks with the "big burtha" twin turbo setups at the shop. Might have been more special if they left cylinders 7 and 8 on the back of them. They are pooches in anything that has any substantial weight...like an SD. They did get one of the new cabovers to do a brakestand though :)
O yeah, International is still making ford's diesels...
As for problems with the 6.0's I haven't seen any of the problems that ford is having come through our dealership on the same engines. Also PMR's are good for the HP that most people are going to be making.

the twin turbo PSD? oh u mean the baby 4.5 bent 6? hardly a big bertha. might be good for a f-150.
the 6.0 is a good motor, like all they had there premature problems. the 7.3 is a better PSD IMO because it just doesnt die. the 6.0 isnt as time tested yet but cany go wrong with either one. get urself a nice performance module and go to town man.
BTW, crew cab shorties are sweet. better if it was a 1997/8 though :-p
