Swapping in a 4.88 geared expo axle w/ disc brakes.

sucks about the plates, I have brand new front d35 aussie locker that has been sitting here for a year
I have been scared to put it in, but I got to regear the front soon so I might throw it in

Evan, did you use a notched pin or grind the gears? I never pulled the cover, just looked up in the hole and saw the fat ring gear. Gotta love that drain plug.

ummm -- i dunno hah..I had my mechanic friend do that for me and I wasnt there when he did it...Ill give him a call tomorrow and ask..Im going to say the pin was notched but not 100%

Finally done. The emergency brake was a major *****. Took it for a nice test drive and man are the brakes awesome!! I should've done this a long time ago.

nice swap! id love to be able to just drive off every monday after wheeling instead of cleaning the drums.....

Yeah, drum drakes just suck. Honestly the brakes have never been this good. It's so tight and stops like a champ!
