Muffler Question!

I am trying to figure out which muffler I have, I think/thought I have a FlowMaster HushPowerII, like the one shown here: , but I mine is completely round and I cannot find where it says 'FlowMaster' anywhere.

What is it? Can you help me? Thanks a bunch!

- Mike

yea, completely round doesn't sound like a flowmaster at all.......sounds like a glass pack.........better make sure you didn't pay flowmaster price.....but i'd go back.........a picture would help.

Oh, and which flowmaster did you ask for?

I didn't ask for a specific FlowMaster, but I think he said he was gonn put the HushPowerII. I know I specifically told Him I wanted FlowMaster. I will try to take a picture tomorrow and look at my paper work tomorrow. I can't go back to the shop, I had it installed when I lived in FL, I am now 800 miles North in GA.

sorry man but it sounds like it is just a generic muffler... i doubt there is much you could do now anyway since the shop screwed you the first time they would try to get out of fixing it right

Maybe it's a FlowTech. They make some crappy round mufflers. My friends got one on his S-10 and it sounds crappy. It doesn't help that it's a 2.2L 4 banger.

My flows didn't have any printing or anything on them, completely plain. I bought them from an authorized resaler too...(i think summit, and if it wasn't it was a local store) and it had nothing on em

That looks like it is either an old turbo or a glass pack.I have seen only one turbo with that shape in my life,so more than likely it is a glass pack.

Hokey Dokey, I just went out to my truck and went through the papers in my glove box and found the one for my exhaust. It is Glasspacks! It's not what I asked for so I am alittle agitated that he sold me something other than what I asked for and I didn't catch it on the receipt.

I think it was $425, I didn't look at the price when I went out to the truck a few minutes ago.

That was actually the best price around, I went to one place to have them look at it and they wanted $850, I laughed and walked out!

I was just looking on the FlowMaster web site and I am thinking about the Super 40, but I really want to hear a clip of it on a Ranger.

i like the 50 series over the 40 series, the 50 is deeper and sounds better on the 4.0.

mike, didn't you buy your exhaust down here? Sounded like a flowmaster to me when you were down here.
