Mustang Rims on my 04 XLT
 

Can anyone tell me if 17" Mustang rims will work on my 2004 XLT 4 X 4 extended cab Ranger. I currently have the stock 16" rims and have a chance to get a good deal on 17" 08 Mustang rims. I know I will need new tires.
Can I use 17" rims? What year Mustang rims will work? What is back space and bolt pattern I need.

The 4x4 part may be OK on 2001 and up, i.e. the Live Axles, no front locking Hubs which meant larger center hole in Wheels needed

1994 and up Mustangs have same bolt pattern as Rangers, 1983 to 2011

The overall diameter of the tire not the wheel diameter will decide if you need a lift also

Thanks for the response. I appreciate the info. I am pretty sure that I have a lift kit on my truck. How can I tell for sure what lift I have. I would guess 3" lift.

1998-2011 4x4 should have cab height at 68"

That's with stock tire size so look on driver door label to see if you have stock tire size

Also the center line of the wheels/axles is at bottom of lower body lines, front wheels, if body line is 3" higher then you have a 3" lift

When you say "at the bottom of the lower body lines" Do you mean the bottom of the rocker panel? Actually, my truck seems higher then that.
Also, is the cab height from the ground to the top of the inside of the door?

Look at the drawing in the link I posted, wheels have center lines shown, they are in line with lower body, so yes bottom of rockers would be Stock height of the Ranger

Height is Clearance of the cab so the highest point on the roof of the cab is the height of a vehicle
