Hit a Deer
Hey everyone i havent had this truck for long , but a few nights ago i was driving along around 8p.m and a deer came out of no where. insurance appraiser is coming this week to have a look and im told its covered under comprehensive. i paid 1500 for the truck about a month ago and as far as im conserned i got an awesome deal. its a 1997 2.3L 5speed. im fairly positive they will just write it off but my question is ... how much can i expect to get for the truck if they write it off. i have receips for lots of work recently done (under coating, new winter tires etc) the truck has about 250k on it and new paint its in mint shape under neath and no rust.
so with all that said .. what do you guys think they will give me for the truck? keep in mind im in canada. thanks for your help i really appreciate it.
btw yes air bag did go off lol

If they total it, I would buy it back. all the front sheet metal is easy to replace. Hardest part would be the core support. The most expensive part would be the airbag, but you can find them on ebay for fairly cheap. I hit one with my 95, clipped it on the passenger front corner. Didn't do that much damage, and the parts list would have totaled it out. I didn't even claim it and fixed it myself.

haha yeah the fur is cool , but im fairly sure they will total it because yes the rad is all pushed back and damaged, i havent opened the hood yet because it wont budge. but im fairly sure they will total it just because of the air bag even. as far as the deer the police sargent and everyone wanted it lol but i think the township just disposed of it because the impact would have likely ruined the insides. to be hounest i hope its totaled i wouldnt mind the cash - the $500 deductable

xterras are sweet my mom had one for a while and it went anywhere in stock form **** took it our drive way in 3-4 foot snow drifts and my dads f150 couldnt make it. she didnt it in one shot. sucks about the truck. get another one keep the tires if you can. they should give yo more than 1500 for it i would think. they gave me 1800 when my truck got hit. and its a 94 with 271,000 miles on it
