My First Mod!

Today I just completed the first mod to my truck other than the TC mod. I put in some Pioneer 6"X8"'s in the front & back. Not too hard to do, and I'm glad I have the 2 door, so much easier than a 4 door I've heard. They sound pretty good, and now that I've modded, I have the disease and can't stop!

Tip to anybody removing a window crank - pry with a flathead arount the base of the crank on the edge, it just pops off. Call me stupid, but I was trying to pull it off for about 5 minutes straight before I tried this lol.

Theres a torx bolt under the cover on the window crank, I think its like a T15.

Cool, what Pioneer 6x8's did you get? 3-way or 4-way?

They're the three way speakers, sound pretty good. If I do anything else as far as audio, I might get a new head unit. Must.. do.. more.. mods.. - Can't wait to get my crank pulley and alternator pulley and install, hope it's as easy as the speaker install.

A new HU will make those speakers sound even better. And I agree with you about the doors, I had the 4 door and that was a PITA, now I have a 2 door supercab, soooo much easier, just take the shield off and there it is! I have the same as you probably but 4-way (meant to get 3 way though).

I've had the 3-ways in for about a year now and they sound awesome, cheap and sounds great, can't beat it. I have the 2 door ext cab as well, super easy to install the rears.

Glad you got your first mod done. There will be more and they will get more complicated. I started with the OHC. I never thought I would buy bigger tires and a 3 inch B/L.
