Yep, been driving it back and forth to work, bleed about handfull of sand out of the powerstearing, toss a extra pump on since the other one was fried, and fixed the swaybar links and new shock mounts

Yeah, but you were broken before you GOT there, lol.

Hope the newbies took the CORRECT lesson out of that, since you were showing them how it's [not] done!

This is'nt directed to anyone but the noobies that Griggs speaks of (so don't get mad ):

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Understand that sentence, and you'll learn a lot about a lot of people, .

Nothing was broken before I got there, I just knew what the weak links where, I knew this would happened, but I went for it anyway. If I did NOT want to break something, do you really think I would do what I did? I just did not plan on NAPA and local auto store being closed that is 2 min away, so I had to make quite a trip, and forgot my tools when I got there, simple as that

I just thought this would be a fun story, I did not learn much of anything from this trip, because I KNEW before I even went what would wind up happening. things went a little different as planed, but what doesn't in life

I guess my point , and this is from a guy who doesn't jump so it may be bogus: is that if you know you have weak links, airing 8 feet is potentially dangerous. Sudden collapse of the front end under ANY circumstance, much less under that pressure, can cause a loss of control and maybe even result in a rollover or other problem as a result of sudden lack of control.

In such a case, would you be safe? How about passengers? Everyone around you? You DON'T know when you have marginal stuff how much it can take. Without a roll cage and in the presence of bystanders what you did could be considered FOOLISH and dangerous to yourself or others -- and that's just the way I see it.

Showing that as an example to newcomers does not impress me and your putting it up as "fun" doesn't either -- sorry if that offends you.

Thanks for your concern, and I guess to cover all your points..

I had no passengers with me, the only weak links that would have been dangerous where the upper ball joints, witch as you can see, one broke.

For bystanders, where I did it, was where other trucks and buggies where jumping, people where far enough away. The area where done, everyone around knew people would be flying over the top of the hill, and people at the top of the hill make sure no one would be in the path.

As for impressing anyone, I don't do anything to impress anyone. My long time friends know I don't mind beating my truck. They know well enough and are older then me, they know the harder you push your stuff; the more likely things are to break, and possible injuries. I NEVER pressure anyone to do things they are uncomfortable with, nor do I give into anything I feel uncomfortable doing

You have not offended me, I am just filling you in for your concerns

Okay, very good and that does address it all. Basically, I took your post as being a lot worse than it was! I think you can see how that might be. We've had some "yahoo's" on here with a philosophy that, if taken as truth, would lead others down a path of chronic breakage, lol -- or worse, injury.

Thanks for the reasoned reply!

I guess I should addressed those points in the first post, I try not to get long winded, I guess it was more or less meant to just be a fun story of the little truck that could lol. I see how it would be easy to think "Hey lets try this with our truck" may have been past on to others, but for me the points I covered in just the last post, is such basic knowledge for doing dumb things as safe as possible, I never even thought to have a warning for kids not to try this at home.

Knowledge I guess that should have been past on to one lady up there, she had a BRAND NEW totally stock Wrangler, bought it Friday of that weekend, had 980 miles on it, temp tag in the window, Sunday morning she hit a hill way too fast and the front bumper dug in and she rolled it 3 times end to end, thankfully I found out that she had nothing more then a few bruises and a very broken heart.

Believe me, the very last thing I ever would want to do, is have someone get hurt because of my actions or me miss guiding them, thatís a burden I could never bear. Witch is why if I see something I know could have some repercussions, I try to step in immediately
