Name That Part...

today at work i had to whip out my awesome Ranger skillz....

a customer came in needing brakes for his 98 4x4, he got them and left...

about an hour later he came back saying they were wrong, and showed us the brakes off his truck, all the guys i work with went through everything and couldn't figure out what brakes they were.

i walked over and recognized it immediately and gave the customer the right brakes.....

What do you all think the problem was?

heres a pic of the shoes:
the customers brake shoe is on the bottom and the ones we gave him originally are on top

ANSWER:
His son just bought the truck about 8 months ago not knowing if anything had been changed on it.
i noticed the shoes looked like the ones i put on my 1st gen.....but he has a 98 model.
After double checking on the computer, it turns out his axle had been swapped from a 92 4x4 Ranger.

so it seems 95+ brakes have the pin....while anything pre-95 has the 1/2 hole

Are they for the right axle?
