Discovered a new part...don't know what it is.

It's on the valve cover on the left looking toward the front. It spins freely and isn't (or wasn't...as far as I can tell) connected to anything nearby.

Looks like a piece of plastic used to connect the wiring harness to.

Feels like metal and it spins...but since I don't know what it is...could be.

It wouldn't spin if the wiring was attached to it.

This thing?

You can see the tape on the wire harness where it used to go.

I guess the next dumb question is should I be concerned that there are no wires on a wire harness? Or is it for other years or models?

Rotate it 90° CCW and it'll fit into the 'pocket' of the tape.

That explains the tape that came off on my hand.

So it's only a wire harness...that's a relief. Thank you everybody.

Probably wouldn't hurt to take some black zip-ties and reconnect the harness to the clip. It may take a bit of pushing the wiring to conform to the clip now as the harness might have deformed a bit from not being supported at that point for a while. But it's a quick and easy job that'll take less than a minute.
