OK guys so help me...

I have a Gibson system on the truck now. Its just a 3.0 but I removed the stock cats and replaced them with a single highflow unit. I have 3 inch tips that angle down just before the bumper. Looks pimp to me so changing the tips is out of the question. Now I do like the way it sounds, its deep and has a great tone. But its loud. Its loud all the time. It never gets quiet. At first I liked it. Now I don't. I imagine if you will.. that your radio is on a 1-20 scale. So most days you'll listen around a 5-7 or so, turn it up to 11 for a good song. I gotta crank that ***** up till at least 15 to hear words over this exhaust. The full 20 to drown it out. Its too much...

So anyways... With keeping the same basic tone, the nice and deep V-8 truckish sound. What do you guys recommend for a daily driver? I don't want it loud anymore.

And for everyone who has a 4.0 with a dumped Super 44. This truck is MUCH louder than yours, keep that in mind. I can drown out a reving 4.0 while I sit at idle. Changing the cats out on these things does wonders...

Thanks for the help and for voting!

They do. I pass emissions. I don't have a CEL or anything. Did the spark plug de-fouler trick.

I've been leaning towards the 50 cause I don't know if the 70 is going to be too quiet. I really don't know. I fear I'm going to be spending $250 bucks on a pair of mufflers soon...

spark plug de-fouler trick?

and the 70 series would probably be too quiet, i say try the 50 if it's still too loud, just sell it.

the 50 is a great muffler. they tamed but still a flowmaster. it may still be louder than you like, but with killing off your cats is going to make it hard as it is.

Yeah. Basically its a spacer for the 02 sensor putting it farther out of the exhaust pipe so it reads differently than to forward 02 sensor. That way you can do whatever you want with the cats. No CEL and the truck runs great.

I think I'm going to get the fiddy. I don't think I have the flow for a 70. There is a youtube vid of a 4.0 with a fiddy. But it still has the eleventybillion cats on it so its not a fair comparo. It was pretty mild tho.
