power windows and cold weather

We previously had quite a bit of rain here about a week ago, and now that we got colder temps and a wintry mix, my power windows won't open. They start to go down but stop almost immediately. This is on my 2007 ranger and I know it's under warranty but was just checking how common of a problem this might be.

unless ur fat and lazy like me, with a bad back, reaching over is a btch.

the power window motor in my driverside door went out in the summer of 05. the replacement isnt nearly as 'strong' or peppy as the oem.

ya what happens is u get moisture in the seems and then the freeze. it will thaw on a nice sunny day or if you go to the car wash and run warm water on it........

its was -20c-30c here the last few days and with the few feet of snow the windows freeze.......

jsut go inside and get your coffee and not use the drive thru. and besides you get more excerise that way

but if your windows are frozen and you have manual windows you are more likely to crank the handle harder and brake it whereas the pw motor wont move the window because they dont have enough muscle
