Need some help

Ok, so I finally have a serious buyer for my car, and need to make a decision. My choices are: Sell my car (2000 Toyota Celica GT AUTO 94k) and get this ranger (to be used as a dd and occasional weekend mudding):

http://www.bargainnews.com/viewad.cf...947&TheDealer=

OR keep my car and save up money to buy a beater ranger for weekend wheeling. What do you all think I should do? I have been wanting a Ranger for a long time, just going from 30mpg to 15mpg is a huge difference in spending cash on gas. Thats the only factor keeping me wondering.
If I get this truck, I will put on 31x10.5 BFG ATs unless its got the 4.10s (Im going to look tomorrow the guy doesn't know) in which case Ill probably go with 32x11.5. Probably would throw on a body lift down the road, but keep the same size tires. I dont want to go up to 33's I have read they put too much stress and kill gas mileage. How much of a difference would I notice in mileage going from stock tires (29" right?) to 31's? to 32s?
Also, what is special about the EDGE, why do they call it EDGE, is it different from the xlt? Better or worse? He said it doesn't have power doorlocks or windows, no big deal. Is that truck worth the 7k?
Sorry for the huge post its just a big decision and I need some input. Thanks alot guys!

I just read on this website:

http://www.ford-trucks.com/specs/200..._ranger_1.html

That the Edge might have 3.55 gears in it. Where exactly is that tab because I could not find it on the last truck I checked out. With 3.55 gears means I would get better gas mileage right? Even if I put on the 31/s?

only 2wd edges come with 3.55s

the edge is a sport package. more than likely that edge has 4.10s, it could have 3.73s but from the year and being 4wd it should have 4.10s

3.55s will help with highway mpg, 4.10s are good for mudding, pulling, city, and dont do that bad for highway IMO.

The tag is on the diff cover its held on by a one of the bolts.

its got 30.8" tires as is stock. 32s or even 33s fit stock.

I got 16mpg with 33s and a BL on my 2003 and 4.10s, would get better on the highway.

It should say what gears it has on the inner door on the drivers side, if not it'll have some codes that you'll have to look up what they mean on here or somewhere on the internet. If that's what you were asking.

Ok thank you, I didn't know stock was close to 31"s Ill have do go 32x11.5 then. I found the codes.
Also, does adding a flowmaster affect gas mileage? Does having a flowmaster have a negative effect on the engine? Flowmaster exhaut is probably the first upgrade I would do, then tires, then bl.

From what I've gathered, a flowmaster exhaust (or any exhaust for that matter) won't give you any performance or economy boosts without tying it into the other performance mods. In order to get the performance that exhaust companies boast about you'd have to get a CAI, headers, Hi-flow Cats, and then get a tune to bring them all together. Then you might get some upgrades in performance. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.

But with that being said, it's a good place to start...and you'll get a nice sound out of it.

I would lean towards holding off and getting a Ranger just for the wheeling. Not only do you have more freedom 'cause it doesn't always have to be ready to go the next day but you can mod it out more and not have to worry about mileage.

On my super 44 I didn't notice any change gain or loss. Go with 32s, you won't have any problems with a torsion bar crank to fit and wheel with those.
