Is 5500 Too much for this truck?

I was looking for a lower mileage truck, but this teuck is so CLEAN! It is a real nice Blue too (Brighter than Bright Island Blue) It has 118K though. It has bucket seats, a 4.0 auto with a Limited slip. Its a 99 so I am sure it has PVH, but I can replace those with avm's easily. The dealer up north of me has it and they are asking 6500, I got them down to 5500, but I just can't bite the Bullet. What do you think.

P.S. I couldn't get a deal worked out on the 04 F150 so I walked away. They sent me a letter, but the offer was still to high IMO.

flash them $5,000 in cash or check and see if they take it......$5,000-$5,500 is about right for that.....and MAKE them give you a CarFacts on it.....and watch them run it so you know it isn't a fake 1.......

it looks clean......it has the PVH......AVM's are not too expensive (cheaper than the hubs on my truck) and seem to be easy to replace.....and you have a wealth of knowledge if anything else breaks on it...

Good Idea, I usually refrain from bringing cash to a deal as that gives me the opportunity to act with my heart not my head. My Main concern is the mileage. It is alot higher than I wanted, but I can't stress how clean this truck is. I saw it From the side road and just had to pull in. I'd have to do a 01-03 front end swap as 98-00 were hideous to me.

i hear ya on the heart not the hand, but that isn't a bad price....if it is as clean as you say, then milage probably is highway miles....

also request previous owner information so you can contact them and talk to them about it.....they wont lie to you, it isn't theirs anymore.....

and yes, a '01+ front end swap would be inorder......and not to hard to do...and then maybe a Superlift

I say go for it, it looks spotless, and that price isn't bad. Aside from that, haven't I read that OHV 4.0's will run well over 200K with proper care?? If thats the case, that thing has allot of life left!

Hideous was extreme, but IMO I don't think that is an attractive front end. Never Have. I don't think 93-97 are all that great looking either.

Bought my 00 about 7 months ago for $5600 with 138k miles on it. It was a one owner truck, and it came from atlanta so no doubt it was mostly all highway miles, b/c it feels like a new truck.....nothing feels worn or anything, and I haven't spent a penny on repairs.

I got 5500 on a trade in with my 2000 nissan frontier. It had two bent rims, a SL, BL, no fenders, tranny problems, and it squeeked like hell. Oh and it had 72k on it. I know we are talking about two different trucks, but 5500 seems fair for a perfect condition ranger like that.

Id say thats right. We have a explorer that comes in same year as that truck, 265k miles, tranny is starting to slip kinda bad but the motor has never had anything done to it other then a water pump and AC compressor.
