I can second that as a previous Jeep owner and having 3 friends that had Wranglers. One only had it for 2 years and the other 2 had them for about 4 years. The good this is that sense no one wanted to ride with them out of town they never had to drive.

having such a short wheel base makes them not good in snow and ice plus they are too light to be effective in the snow. my parents both have jeep wranglers and ive driven both of them in the snow and they by far were the worst vehicles ive ever driven in the winter. not to mention they are drafty as hell, even with the hard top. they were just miserable to drive in the winter IMO.

NO!!!
DO NOT DO IT....Ive had so many issues with mine...worste thing I did was get rid of the Ranger. I take very good care of my jeep, its only been in the woods 3-4 times, the tcase is junk already, trans isnt shifting properly. Everything leaks. Chysler's trannys and NP tcases are junk, the motors are good. but you ll replace everything atatched them.
Yes awesome in the woods, goes down the road nice, very comfortable. But Im always working on it.
From a professional stand point, Dont do it unless all your doing is a woods rig or strict dd. and not modding it.

my uncle used to have a 99 jeep YJ 4.0L 5 speed 4x4 2 door.. nice jeep had no problems with it, he ran a set of 31's, i've ridden in it we towed a small single axle trailer and 2 racing mowers, gear and a cooler just fine.. he used to own an automotive repair shop but claimed bankruptcy and on the jeep..
i've also ridden in a jeep up the mountains and we BAGGED on it, nothing broke.. it was fine.. mind you there was 2 feet of water in it the next morning.
i'd love to get to jeep strictly as a wheeling/trail rig. but if you need a truck bed, then keep the ranger. if you dont need one than get a jeep.

I could see that I guess...My Jeep was banged around pretty good on just the 2 miles of slush I was on.
I say, if you want ride quality get the ranger......if you want more of a trail rig get the Jeep.
Or better yet, Keep the ranger and pull the jeep with it :P
