New 06 Ranger Grille

I am assuming not, but is there anyway to swap out my grille on my 01 and put the new 06 grill on. I am only seeing that it can be done on the 04-05s so I am assuming its not possible on 01-03.

I really love the look of them and think it would make my front end look sweet, and I am just not happy with the billet grille I have on right now. Anyway thanks.

karrbass4life May 11, 2006 11:19 AM

I think it's been done already. Not 100% sure.

Where in Cincinnati are you from?

cincy4point0 May 11, 2006 11:27 AM

I am in Loveland, Field ertel area right now. But having a house built in Maineville, which I'll move into in October.

edit: other items might be needed as well with an 01

cincy4point0 May 11, 2006 11:39 AM

Yea I checked that out, says for 04-05. Wonder what I could get to make it work. Would look bad ass if I could get it done.

zabeard May 11, 2006 11:54 AM

it would look pretty good but im a fan of the 01-03 front ends

cincy4point0 May 11, 2006 12:00 PM

I am too, but when I look at the new front ends I just cant turn my head, love the look. And if I had the new badges, plus my valance idea with the lvl II hooks I wont want to sell my truck for something newer.

zabeard May 11, 2006 12:04 PM

best 06 ive seen IMO

as far as getting it on your truck you need to find a silver 04 and get the hood, and few front end pieces

cincy4point0 May 11, 2006 12:15 PM

So its the hood that makes it different. I am betting that would be expensive just to switch to a 06 grille.

zabeard May 11, 2006 12:17 PM

i bet atleast a 1000 after paint. unless u find an 04+ silver that has been rear ended, but they dont make your silver after 03 i dont think anyway.

SoundPer4mance May 11, 2006 03:05 PM

i believe the silvers have all been the same, silver frost. you will need the hood and possibly the header panel

cincy4point0 May 12, 2006 12:11 AM

Any idea what that would cost Bob?

i thought they went to gunmetal in 04?

cincy4point0 May 12, 2006 08:54 AM

Can anyone chime in on this if the 04 hood is actually silver frost. If that was the case I would just need to find one at a junk yard, make it alot cheaper.

karrbass4life May 12, 2006 11:06 AM

Thats purdy. Looks like a Tonka truck.

i still dont think they made silver frost after 03. Actually im pretty sure. they make a silver metalic now.

04+ silver metalic
01-03 silver frost

so you wont find a hood that matches.

if ya dont believe me check out www.paintscratch.com they list the colors for your model/year ford.

cincy4point0 May 12, 2006 01:04 PM

Ouch, ya then that means its gonna be really expensive to do, man that sucks.

SoundPer4mance May 12, 2006 03:10 PM

not necessarily. go to a dealership and park next to one, swap your tailgate on if you want. it may be close enough

quest51210 May 12, 2006 03:31 PM

i am still waiting for wayne to give in and trade front ends with me. i will even paint them to match his truck for free.

Yea but wouldnt a different color silver hood stick out like a sore thumb. But if it looks the same and I could get the new grill I might be willing to give it a shot, and if I had to get it painted later on that would be cool.

01xltranger4x4 May 13, 2006 04:23 PM

I love the 06 Chrome Grill, i'd love to swap mine...

cincy4point0 May 13, 2006 11:48 PM

I really wanna do it, need to see how much I could get a hood first though and if it will even match my truck.
