I'm kinda wanting to say cut the grill, but damn! that fits up there pretty close, it doesn't stick way the **** out..

sooo i would say tack it on pretty good and see how you like it for a week or 2..

I'll probably try to find a good way to mount the solenoid over on the passenger side to keep it out of the way.

I think God must of put these tow hooks on because my mortal tools are no match for them. I'll have to see what we have at work to get them off.

TORCH!
seriously, keep it there IMO, get us some pics of it lower but it looks good there, if only it wrapped around a little more.

i may just end up ordering that bumper

I don't see what the problem with the winch is. I would just leave it there like Matt said and test it out and see if it works.

I do kind of wish it wrapped around more too, but oh well. I'll get it mounted up this weekend and we'll see how it turns out.

Just ordered a steel hawse fairlead, since that roller one is not going to work. Should work out good now. Anybody wanna buy a roller fairlead?

give that roller-less fair lead a good test.. i kinda want to get one.. how much did you pay for it?

you could extend it pretty easily..

remember, that hoop is there to protect the radiator and engine so you don't want it too low..

I got it for .99 on ebay, but $25 shipping WTF!! The lowest I could find anywhere else was atleast $40.

I thought about using some pipe and angle to extend the roller one out but I think this one will fit much nicer. Atleast this way I won't have to worry about busting a roller out if I nose dive something.

I definitely want to keep the bumper up for that reason. Also if I get it too low it'll look just plain stupid.

yep, not gonna say any names though

Maybe extend off the ends, but angle into your frame for some strength on the ends?

I'll send you two of them. Just PM your stuff.

lol

If I do ever extend of the ends I'll get some DOM and use it to go to the frame. I would like to get some anyway to make a nice tube skid. I was talking about using angle and pipe to push the roller fairlead out enough to clear those bars above it. But that's solved now.

well when.. if i ever do. make a bumper..

its gonna wrap around then go into the frame so i can lay the truck onto the bumper and not have to worry about it

but i also do believe you care a little more about your truck than I do.

Eventually I would like to fix my bumper up like that. But it takes me long enough to get it put on in the first place.

Yeah, I still like to see her shine.

Ohh hell. The bumper and welder are in the same building!!

That pile of pipe and crap behind it is the beginning of my tiregate thing.

I am pretty sure my truck will be SAS'd before you have this bumper on! And I wasn't even planning on doing an SAS!

Yeah, yeah.

I got the new crossmember half *** welded on. I'll let our welders at work finish it up so it's done right.

I kind of went a different route with it. I used a shorter piece of angle for the front. I'm thinking I'll cut those other mounts off the bumper and get some tube to run to the side of the frame.

But other then that everything looks good. It ended up being right where I had anticipated, minus cutting the grille. I just need to get the rest of the welding finished, a little drilling, and bam!!

I was gonna say what's taking so long, but having just gone the custom bumper route, I understand. It sucks waiting doesn't it?

Can you get a pic from like the top down?

I like how it sits, i may call TG and see if i can get one like 3-4" narrower and have it wrap around a little more.

I can get a pic once I get some batteries.

I do wish I could of seen how it fit before hand. That way I could of asked them to do the same because that would make it look perfect.

Are those sliders weld on or do they have mounts? Or do you have to make your own mounts? I am about to order some and just need to know whats going on with them.
