WIPER BLADES ACTING ON THEIR OWN?

At first is started with my stereo. It would turn on all by itself (only on, not off). Then that stopped, but now periodically my wiper blades will spiratically go on and just go through one (1) revolution. But sometimes it will do a few revolutions back to back. Obviously it's an electrical issue, but anyone know of anything I can check. What, where, how, etc?!?!? Thanks Guys...

I was actually walking by a door at work the other day. One of our quality control guys has a late 90's ranger, and his windshield wipers were going crazy. I thought it was hilarious.

This thread will probably help him as well. Thanks.

HAHAHAHA its defiantly one the more humorous electrical issues the Ranger has.

I like the malfunction switch short as well that causes a wisp of smoke to come from the steering column out of the hazard light switch.

How do I get the end piece off first, so I can have access to the screw on the inside? Everything else makes sense, I just do not know how to get the end piece off? (Do you know what I am talking about? Because the wiper blade problem seems like it is getting worse and worse, I need to get in there and clean all that gunk away....

It pops off with a small screwdriver or a pocket knife
