I have a 2003 Ranger XLT 4X4 and it came with the "Power Hump" hood. It will work as far as I know. I can't remember what options for grille and hood combination's were available.

I had to break out my 2003 Ford Ranger pamphlet. Yeah, the XLT 4x2's had different grilles and metal hoods. The power hump hood is fiberglass or composite, or something of the sort. They are very heavy. And the 4x4's also had the honeycomb grilles. I believe (but can't say 100%) that the hood will work w/ your existing grille. I'd bet it would, but if not, you'd need the grille and grille surround as well as the hood.

I think the power dome hood would look mismatched w/ the 4x2 XLT grille. If I was doing the hood I would do the grille as well. That's just my opinion though, and it's worth about what you paid for it.

lol no, it's not that much of a weight difference.

plus he has a 2WD XLT which is coil sprung, no tbars.

Look, TONS of guys that have 98-03s switch to powerdome hoods. It's not that big of a deal.
