I went and looked at my window sticker, I was mistaken, mine wasn't 28K, the LII's were however, mine stickered at 24,870 at the time. Subtract the rebate for dealer financing at the time, the "employee" discount I recieved for knowing the dealership people, subtract the $300 from the "Hold back" the dealership lost because they matched another dealers price on a LESSER equiped Ranger. Now add the extra bits that didn't come standard with my truck that I had them add, calculate tax (at 7.5% where the truck was bought) add title to that, and you get my final purchase price of $23,187 out the door.
All this makes no difference to me however after you read my next part.
I pay $10 a month out of my pocket for my truck, the title is in my name, the loan in is my name, but my business pays for the loan, so what I ended up paying really doesn't matter to me, whether you believe its a good deal or not .
heres my window sticker

Once again no offense, but you didn't recieve an employee discount, they might have told you that but that is not true. They at most gave you X-plan. In order to have D-plan you would have to have an employee number of your own or an immediate family member, Brother sister Mother Father, not uncle or aunt. Employees of a Ford dealer get two a year and you can use them or your immediate family. Between me and my parents I have used 8 of them over the years. In order to get D-plan You'd have to sit down at a computer and go through a process to get verified. The only way the car is a Dealer employee price is if it is in your friends name. Not to mention the employee discount is a heck of alot more than a grand off sticker. I can get a grand of sticker walking in and saying I will buy it for a Grand under sticker. My Last employee discount was 3K before rebates. The employee discount usually just takes out the immediate depreciation of buying a new car (ie. I buy the car drive off the lot and it is worth what I paid for it). Just telling you how it is, Alot of people tell me they got an employee discount and I know it is B.S. It doesn't work that way. You got sticker minus rebates if you paid 23K for your ranger, and if the Level II stickered for 28 it had every option including a bed extender and Drop in bed liner.
I am not an employee anymore, so I can only get X-plan, But in August with no rebates I could get a 2007 Level II out the door (tax title lisence) for $22,376 (I had to check old e-mails to find that). I like having no car payments and will never buy another new small truck I walked away, but that is the price I was quoted. Add the Current rebates and it gets even sweeter.

So, you can keep trying to one up me with you "oh so sweet deal", I don't care. Where you live, where I live, and where every one else lives plays a role in the price of a vehicle, true story, if you believe other wise then so be it.
I still only pay $10 a month for my truck, I won't be losing any sleep over it tonight.
