New Ranger or old one?
Hey guys. First time here. I need some help with making a decision.
I’m trying to decide between purchasing a 2003 Ranger with 55k miles from a close friend who would sell it to me for a really good price, or going with a new Ranger which are seemingly really pricey. I have a paid off 2017 Honda Accord with 34k miles that I love, but for the work I’m doing I could really use a truck. I am a sports/baseball coach with a bunch of equipment that I could keep in the bed of the truck with a cover on it. I could probably get over $20k for my Accord which I could: a) use to buy the 2003 Ranger and do whatever maintenance/upgrades it needs with the left over cash or b) use toward the down payment of a new Ranger My predicament is that I really don’t want to have a monthly payment since my car is already paid off, but I’m a little hesitant about buying a 19 year old truck and fearing it might be a money pit. The truck is well maintained and runs well, but it’s still 19 years old. Thanks for any guidance you can provide! |
