New spark plugs/wires FTMFW!
 

So a buddy helped me change them out because I had a miss in #4. Well ended up have 2/6 spark plugs including #4 that were toast. The others were pretty bad also. Got them all change out and she runs silky smooth now. I've noticed I gained some power back too. Given my truck only had 81k miles on it. More then half of that was doing delivery in it. So it was needed very much lol.

what wires did u go with? and plugs?

motorcraft plugs and duralast wires. These wires are temp. It's all they had.

what'd they set u back?

around 60-65 for plugs/wires.

Yeah thats what mine cost too, I used wires from Wayne though. My stock ones the gap was off soooo bad, they looked terrible.

how many miles were you at?

I changed my plugs at 50k miles and they gap was way off in every cylinder. Ford is crazy recommending 100k intervals

Agreed, but that recommendation is for "normal" usage - which only applies on paper, because pretty well everyone encounters "harsh" or "extreme" driving conditions every day.

And with the computer controls on modern vehicles, you wouldn't necessarily notice a drivability problem until it's way too late. Better to maintain a regular, moderate maintainence schedule.

I noticed this with my last plug and wire change - there wasn't a huge, noticeable drop in drivability - more like a gradual erosion of performance - most noticeable AFTER you've done the maintainence (replaced plugs and wires) - and in checking the plugs, there was noticeable wear on the plugs (after around 100,000 km/60,000 miles).

Better sooner and more often than too late and not enough.

were did you get plugs do you have part numbers thanks

Got them from autozone and I dont have a parts number. they are motorcraft plugs.

Just change them once every year and a half or so - plugs are cheap, take a second to take care of... and its just one of those maintenance things that is good to keep a yearly watch on =)
