frame differences

what kind of differences do 3.0 and 4.0 frames have and where is the vin # located on the them. the frame i am looking has the 4.0 motor and it does not have a cab on it. i just want to know if the motor and frame match.

There is no frame differences between the motors, maybe motor mounts but thats it.

nope, if its a torsion bar truck it might have stiffer torsion bars or what not as each truck is different depending on how it was ordered.

its coil front. you know where the vin is stamped on it.

the guy says it is a 98 frame thats also why i would like to know where the vin is

If its coil sprung, they havent changed the frame at all since 98 so all will be fine.

could you take a 2000 body and say put it on a 94 frame?

yes i know it will work i just want to know where the vin is so i can check the year, if motor and frame match, and check to see something happen to it that the po is not telling me.

just do a front end conversion. 2000 on a 94 might just work just little fabrication at the most.

You can't do a 00 front end on a 94. Body is different.

sure you can just change out the core support with a 98+ one and it will be just fine.

Isn't the VIN located in the cab of the truck? I don't believe there is a VIN on the frame, but I could be wrong.

sorry no cab, would there be a vin # on the motor little tag on the driver side valve cover.

Send bob, rwenzing a pm asking where the vin would be located on the frame if there is he would know where its at.

There are vin numbers on the frame. They are in secret locations on the frame. The Highway patrol told me that they are on the driver side top of the rail and there are multiple locations. She would not tell me any more then that because it is a secret.
