I once tried to go up a hill, it was covered with slushy snow and crap. I went up, spun, stopped. Threw her in reverse, cranked the wheel and nailed the gas. Spun myself around, hit second gear out of reverse and continued on another less-hilly way around.

It was great. Fun times. But yeah, 4x4 is awesome in the snow. I set my cruise in the FX4 at 75 locked in 4x4 hi for like, 8 hours on the way home to Michigan through the mountains of Pennsylvania nad the flats of Ohio in February of 2004.

but since its a splash it sits 1in lower than an xlt so a 2-3 will be the same as a 3-4 on an xlt

thing is its an auto...i hate auto's....so i would have to make it manual. and that requires a trans off a 4.0L stick and the computer which puts me into more money. most likely in the long run the 4.0L will come out and sit on a engine stand waiting maybe...i dont need 2 projects at once. the splash comes first lol

Sometimes. Everyone complains that the flip kit produces damn near a 5"-6" drop in the rear. Most of the Splashes came with the 7.5" rear, too. ALL the 4.0's came with a version of the 8.8", which will make dropping even LOWER. That is why I saw to get some lifting shackles.

With the Splashes 1" drop already in the coils and leaf pack -- I'd estimate from how it sits NOW to be 4" lower in the front and around 5.5" in the rear, just due to the geometry of the Splash components.

With mine, I didn't want to go that extreme...so I went and found some 4.0 coil springs and some stock leaf packs from an '96 XLT. That will technically raise [lift] me that inch I already had gone from Ford, and then I will do a "normal" lowering using DJM components.

I still estimate my rear getting about 5" of drop, so I already have the shackles and keys flipped for the kit to raise me back up.

Difficult to comprehend, I hope not. Difficult to do, not really. Just lift, then lower, then lift again.

It'll be worth it in the end!

I got a complete front end, Zach. It's a Chromie bumper, a SMOOTH one without an impact strip. I don't know if you are going like me and all other Splashes and getting body colored everything, but if you wanted to go different [like I almost did] I got some stuff you might be able to use.

I was gonna go smoothie chrome bumper, run some nice tube steps literally against the body, chrome exhaust tip out the side, chrome wheels, and a chrome rear bumper. It was gonna be sharp...but interesting looking at the same time.

But, I since went and did what I did...so yeah..

Can't wait to see it, buddy!

Spell right and i wont correct you.

local place, not ebay.

Yes i have seen them on a ranger.

2" would be too much without flares. 1" would be fine, i dont think the 17" rim would rub the spindle when lowered.
